As of February, 2015, ViVa is no longer sending a doctor and family every 6 months to Tanna. However, because of Cyclone Pam, ViVa is now concentrating its efforts on helping Vanuatu rebuild its health infrastructure. This will mainly be in the form of fundraising, but ViVa will also be debating the future role of Canadian physicians in Vanuatu over the next year. We welcome the input (and especially the long-term commitment) of other interested people to plan where we go from here. We feel that our experience in Vanuatu is a potential resource for new ventures.
