The Victoria-Vanuatu Physician Project relies on its funding from donations. It is a registered Canadian charitable organization so is able to give official Canadian income tax receipts for all donations. If you are interested in donating, click here.

Donations are received from members themselves, from physicians in Victoria, BC and on Vancouver Island, and from other generous organizations. The annual ViVa Respiratory Conference (a physician medical education conference) is a major fund-raiser. For more information about this and other events, click here.

ViVa is a voluntary organization. The only time members are paid is during their service in Vanuatu. They receive a small monthly stipend from the Government of Vanuatu.

ViVa funds are used to pay for a partial subsidy of the Doctor's airfare, for maintenance of the Doctor's house at Lenakel Hospital, and for the purchase and maintenance of the Doctor's truck which is required to travel to remote nursing stations around the island. Doctors and their families are responsible for all their remaining travel, food, and fuel expenses.
